St. Cecilia Parish Monday Night Reentry Program

NOTICE:To Be Part of this Program, you must be a Reentry Citizen who has been in the Correctional System

Returning Citizens Ministry

Previously known as our Prison and After Ministry, this group of parishioners gathers every Monday and welcomes anywhere from fifteen to thirty men, many of whom reside in local halfway houses. These Monday nights are designed to provide a safe space where men reentering the community from prison or jail feel welcomed and loved. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. there are two or three support groups that allow the men a chance to share with others what is going on in their lives. Parishioners facilitate these groups and participate in them. At 7:00 p.m. everyone shares a meal together. Our guests depart at 8:00 p.m. and the volunteer parishioners stay to clean up and have a brief meeting. This is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of men who often need to hear about their inherent goodness and dignity.

What happens at this program

This program is run by Saint Cecilia Parish church members and runs on Monday nights at 6pm in the lower basement area of the church. The program starts by signing in and getting a name tag for yourself and then sitting down to have a chat with other participants then a volunteer will speak to the participants on how the program will run this evening and will then start with a basic check-in time after the check-in time a topic will be shared and start a discussion on the topic. At the end of the Discussion time a short prayer is given and we move over to other part of the room to get a nice meal to eat and have some fellowship time.
